Release 22.2.01 Known Bugs and Workarounds (Resolved with 22.2.02)
Quote from Donna Cox Baker on February 9, 2024, 1:01 amUpdate: Release 22.2.02 corrects these issues and adds a few enhancements. A fresh template and code to update existing workbooks is being emailed to all who purchased the 90-60 through my store using a valid email address, likely to arrive 3/11/2024. If you do not receive the update, please get in touch through the Contact page on this site.
--------------------
The following discrepancies have been found in Release 22.2.01 and will be fixed in an update very soon. If you purchased the product legally and used a valid email address, I will email you a message with instructions for loading the update as soon as it is ready. If, however, you have reported any of my emails as SPAM to your email provider or unsubscribed from my website, I am prohibited from contacting you. You must resubscribe or reverse your SPAM complaint with your email provider.
22.2.01_0001: The ADMN and DASH are not showing proper calculations of the number of records.
No workaround. This is not harmful to the database--merely a convenience that is not working.
22.2.01_0002: The sheet name is not being written into the top-right field on the header. It retains the original name. Only refreshes if I delete and it forces the refresh.
Workaround: In most cases this will insert the phrase "9060COPY" into the top-right corner, where your sheet's name should appear. Delete the bad name or make any other change in the header section. The 90-60 will tell you that you are not allowed to change the headings, and it will force it to rethink the header. In rethinking it, it will replace the bad name with the good one. It should not have to be done more than once on a sheet.
22.2.01_0003: In filtering, the intermittent page is showing the sort, rather than the message.
When you set a filter running, the system should show you a large message on an empty screen while it works in the background. It appears to have expanded cells that are supposed to be unseen--pushing the message out of sight. This is not material to the larger problem with filtering (see 22.2.02_0004). This should be fixed with the larger issue.
22.2.01_0004: Filtering is bringing up no results.
For reasons not yet determined, the filtering code in the 90-60 is no longer filtering as it once did. It is bringing up no records. This seems likely to be due to a change to the Sheets software and is under investigation at a high priority. This problem is triggering a new release, as soon as it's been fixed.
22.2.01_0005: [Enhancement] Create method to notify people when they’ve opened a sheet with an older version of the script.
This is a convenience that I would like to add, if it can be done without Google requiring you to give up more security. My goal has always been to prevent you from having to agree to wide access to your computer for any of these functions to work.
22.2.01_0006 Census worksheets named with numbers trigger Dashboard errors.
No workaround. This is being fixed in 22.2.02.
22.2.01_0007 Year Ranges in Header are cut off from full view.
Workaround: On existing sheets, right-click on the 3 in the left margin. Choose Resize Row, and enter 30 as the row height. To fix it for new sheets, select View--Hidden Sheets--9060COPY. Make the same change there. Release 22.2.02 will be reformatting the headers to fit this data more tightly--taking up less room on your monitor.
22.2.01_0008: Sort function is displaying error in top-right display as it wraps up the sort.
The sort is working properly, but not displaying status as it should. No workaround needed.
22.2.01_0009: Minor formatting issues with borders are in columns GH through GN in 9060TMPL and being brought into census sheets. These do not affect functioning.
Workaround: No need to manually fix this. Will be fixed with 22.2.02.
22.2.01_0010: Sort and Filter functions do not work properly for records imported from the Early Federal Census Worksheet in Release 22.2.01 and probably 22.2.00.
Workaround: No simple workaround, but is a priority correction in Release 22.2.02.
