Release 22.1.00 Known Bugs and Temporary Workarounds (All Resolved with Release 22.1.01)

Please note that these discrepancies were corrected with Release 22.1.01, June 13, 2023. An email was sent to all who had purchased the product using a valid email address at purchase. If you have unsubscribed from my system's emails or reported my email address as SPAM to your email provider, I cannot get emails to you. Please resubscribe to my newsletter (see bottom of web page), and notify me that you need to receive the update information. I will need to know the email address you used to make your purchase. If you have flagged my email as SPAM in your email system, you will also need to reverse that decision. Thank you!

The following bugs have been discovered in Release 22.1.00 of the 90-60 Census Workbook. All should be fixed in 22.1.01, which does not yet have a release date. Where possible, workarounds have been suggested.

IMPORTANT NOTE: For a significant error in function, I will attempt to send information about the error, its fix, and any workarounds to all customers who have purchased the 90-60. However, if you entered an invalid email address, have alerted my email system that you do not want to hear from me, or reported any of my emails as SPAM to your email system, I cannot reach you. You can reverse this by subscribing to Genohistory News at the bottom of all website pages.

22.1.00_0001: Reformat Selection utility may stop with "Exception: Those Rows are out of bounds" when processing a sheet with many records.

Workaround: Move part of your records to a separate census sheet and run the utility on both parts. Then move them all back together.

22.1.00_0002: The Reformat Full Sheet utility restarts the ID counter at 1.

No workaround available. This will rarely happen except in the import of large sheets from the EFCW format, which had no ID counters. At the current time, duplication of some ID numbers will not affect any functioning of the workbook. When the problem is fixed, users can run the Reformat Full Sheet utility and renumber the entire sheet with unique numbers, if desired.

22.1.00_0003: The Complete Sort & Filter Data (Selection--Overrides) utility is running the utility on all records in the sheet, rather than a selection.

Workaround: If you have not manually altered names in the Sort & Filter section of your sheet, you can allow this to run on all with no problem. If you have made changes to some rows, you can move the rows you need to complete to a separate sheet for the moment and run the utility, then move them back.

22.1.00_0004: The online help in the FT column (Totals help has a typo in the first sentence.)

No workaround needed, though the user can correct the error, if desired.

22.1.00_0005: The Comments field is not wrapping text.

Workaround: When you have more text than fits on a single line in this field, click in the field and select Format--Wrapping--Wrap from the menus.

22.1.00_0006: The formats for all censuses but 1810 and 1820 have a faulty formula in column FU that is triggering the red error indicator.

Workaround: The error does not prevent the sheet from working. But you may run one of the Reformat Selection utilities to correct the error.

22.1.00_0007: (Note Only) 1790 Census--White Males have age categories reversed in federal census.

Users must put the tally into the correct column. A note has been added on this line to alert users to this situation and remind them to put White Males 16 and older in the first column and all younger men in the second.

22.1.00_0008: The Sort Sheet utility is aborting with an "Exception: Range Not Found" error.

The error's cause has been found and the correction will be included in release 22.2.00, which should be out by the first week in June 2023.
