Quote from Megan on February 23, 2019, 2:40 amHi Donna
I decided to play around with your one a bit (Findmypast though) to get a citation that automatically produces without having to add the notes in later. What do you think of the below?
In Turbian 8th Edition it gives me the following outputs:
1871 Census England, Wales & Scotland, Database on-line. Images reproduced by Findmypast. Archive Reference RG10, Piece number 2959, Folio 78, P.11, Revival Street, Bloxwich, Walsall Foreign, Walsall, Staffordshire, Henry Stokes (1845) Family. (London, England, UK: Findmypast, 2015), accessed March 7, 2015, https://www.findmypast.co.uk.

Quote from historicalpursuits on May 7, 2019, 3:38 amWhat about listing a census as a Report? That gives us a bunch of options including institution, and might fit better than book. I'm going to try it.
Ahh, Report spits it out with Quotes. So maybe not so good.
After playing around a bit. This is what the various outputs look like.
Start by creating Book format for whole state
Nebraska. 1880 US Census, Population Schedule. NARA microfilm publication T9, roll 753. Washington, D.C.: National Archives and Records Administration. Database with images. Accessed May 6, 2019. www.familysearch.org.
Duplicate and add details – still using Book format for specific county, township, ED. Why? Because when you use the “collection” for 1880 US Census, you have to drill down thru the data base – state, county, subdivision, ED if it exists, before you can get to images which are presented as a set.
Nebraska. Otoe County. Nebraska City. First Ward. ED 186. 1880 US Census, Population Schedule. NARA microfilm publication T9, roll 753. Washington, D.C.: National Archives and Records Administration. Database with images. Accessed May 6, 2019. www.familysearch.org.
Duplicate book, then change to book section format for the page. Add the specific page as the title of the book section. Attach image of page to this source
“Image 22 of 24.” In Nebraska. Otoe County. Nebraska City. First Ward. ED 186. 1880 US Census, Population Schedule., NARA microfilm publication T9, roll 753. Washington, D.C.: National Archives and Records Administration. Database with images. Accessed May 6, 2019. www.familysearch.org.
Duplicate book section, then add the specific family data in front of image number.
“Dwelling 221, Family 224, Amanda, Rich, & Hall Frampton. Image 22 of 24.” In Nebraska. Otoe County. Nebraska City. First Ward. ED 186. 1880 US Census, Population Schedule., NARA microfilm publication T9, roll 753. Washington, D.C.: National Archives and Records Administration. Database with images. Accessed May 6, 2019. www.familysearch.org.
This isn’t perfect, but looks to work for me.
Here’s how the various parts get filled out, to produce the citation in this order.
