Research the Past with Structure and Accountability

Tarapinx™ is an integrated research platform for disciplined inquiry.

Developed by Genohistory Labs™, Tarapinx is designed to help researchers move from questions to conclusions without losing the evidence, reasoning, and source relationships that make those conclusions trustworthy.

Tarapinx brings together the essential elements of serious research:

  • questions;
  • hypotheses;
  • assertions;
  • evidence;
  • sources;
  • people;
  • places;
  • time;
  • action steps;
  • interpretation.

Rather than treating research as a collection of notes or documents, Tarapinx helps researchers preserve the structure of their thinking.

Built for Complex Research

Historical and genealogical research rarely proceeds in a straight line. Questions produce subquestions. Evidence supports, weakens, or complicates an interpretation. Sources overlap. People appear across families, communities, institutions, and events. Conclusions change as the research deepens.

Tarapinx is being developed to hold that complexity without making the work chaotic.

It allows researchers to organize inquiry around questions, connect evidence to assertions, preserve source relationships, and see how conclusions were reached.

Research at Human Scale

Tarapinx is especially suited to research in which identifiable people remain visible within their historical context.

It supports the study of families, communities, institutions, places, events, and networks of relationship without reducing people to names in a tree or examples in a larger argument.

Its structure reflects the principles of genohistory: people, place, time, questions, evidence, and disciplined reasoning.

More Than a Note System

Tarapinx is not intended simply to store information.

It is designed to help researchers:

  • frame meaningful questions;
  • distinguish hypotheses from conclusions;
  • test assertions against evidence;
  • connect evidence to its sources;
  • document changes in interpretation;
  • identify gaps and next steps;
  • preserve the reasoning behind the finished work.

The aim is not to prescribe what researchers must conclude. It is to provide intellectual scaffolding for how they investigate, test, and communicate what they believe the evidence shows.

Designed to Work with Research Tools

Tarapinx is being developed to work alongside established tools rather than replace them unnecessarily.

Its first release is being designed with optional Zotero integration so that researchers can connect source management with structured inquiry. Future development may support additional providers, specialized labs, reporting, timelines, census work, and other forms of historical analysis.

Developed by Genohistory Labs

Tarapinx is developed by Genohistory Labs™, the research and development arm of Golden Channel Publishing.

Genohistory Labs creates methods and tools for disciplined research into people, place, time, and evidence. Tarapinx is the platform in which those methods are brought together.

Current Status

Tarapinx is under active development.

The first release is being built as a stable, durable research system for historians, genealogists, and other serious researchers. Development emphasizes clarity, long-term maintainability, careful documentation, and respect for the integrity of scholarly work.
