Golden Channel Publishing™ is an independent publishing and research enterprise founded by historian, genealogist, and editor Donna Cox Baker in 2018.
It creates and distributes books, websites, courses, and research tools for people who study, interpret, and communicate the past. Genohistory is the intellectual center of much of this work. It brings history and genealogy into sustained conversation, examining identifiable people within the relationships, places, institutions, and circumstances that shaped their lives.
Genohistory is devoted to researching the past at human scale.
A note on the name: Donna Cox Baker coined the term genohistory and began using it publicly in 2020. She has chosen not to claim exclusive trademark rights in the term itself, regarding genohistory as a shared field of inquiry for researchers drawn to this form of scholarship. She welcomes its use in that sense and encourages researchers who use the term to preserve its connection to the integrated study of history and genealogy at human scale. Genohistory Labs™, by contrast, is claimed as a trademark identifying the research and development work of Golden Channel Publishing.
Genohistory Labs
Genohistory Labs™ is the research and development identity within Golden Channel Publishing. It is where research methods, standards, tools, and applications are developed to support historians, genealogists, and other disciplined researchers.
The Labs are designed to support research that joins people, place, time, questions, and evidence within a coherent structure.
Tarapinx
Tarapinx™ is the integrated research platform being developed by Genohistory Labs.
It provides a structured environment in which researchers can build questions, test hypotheses, evaluate evidence, organize sources, and preserve the reasoning behind their conclusions.
